I did a write up of the last couple of the last games of the May Melee, but the whole issue with the Chinese teams trying to boycott Saebyolbe because he supported Taiwan and Hong Kong put a major damper on my enthusiasm. It just made me fucking depressed. The League seems to have stepped in and made the teams back off but I think damage has already been done. At the very least I just can't root for Guangzhou anymore. Like thanks for reminding me no Chinese company is immune from the CCP influence.

So now I'm teamless I guess, which isn't really an issue for me.  I never really understood team loyalty anyway.

And I'm sadly relieved that a Chinese team didn't win, which is a stupid thing because the Dragons roster has no Chinese players! The players are working hard and probably are sympathetic to Saebyolbe but the stupid outrage has done its job and no one is going to say anything. So yeah, even though I did watch the games I don't really feel like going over them. I'll probably get back to it when the next stage starts.

Meanwhile I sat down and watched Castlevania's most recent season over the past two days and enjoyed it. It was basically more of the same imo, and went by very fast, but the ending was satisfying enough, which was what I was worried about mostly.

It's hilarious to me that a show that is non stop gore and slaughter is so sappy in the end. Like almost everyone gets a happily ever after, and the ones who don't I argue deserve it. I liked Saint Germain in the last seasons well enough but boooy did I hate him this season. I just have a deep prejudice for characters who's angst is centered around chasing after a lady who doesn't even indicate that she gives a fuck about him. Like fuck off you pissboy, generate a little personality outside of your thirst. So him getting fucked over in the end was satisfying.

After the threesome in the last season I had gotten greedy and was really hoping for an OT3 endgame. I think the show wouldn't have been completely against going there. I liked that village head person well enough. She was a little nuts which is important for survival in Castlevania land, but the greedy part of me still wanted her to be like, bffs only and let Alucard kiss Sypher and Trevor. Oh well! I can just pretend that's what happened later on.

Trevor just randomly finding mythic weapons in heaps of post apocalyptic trash was hilarious to me. Oop, it's a weapon that can kill death!

The death reveal was great by the way. It made sense, and the drive to resurrect Dracula was a good running plot for the show overall. I'm surprised they just spit the Tepes's right out of hell in the end, but again, who knew the show about drowning in the blood of your enemies was so wholesome. Poor Alucard was looking anguished as fuck while the alchemy was happening. That boy needs about 2 generations worth of TLC at this point. And good luck not going fucking crazy again, Vlad!

While I'm very happy that Isaac has his grotesque friends and is looking forward to the future, and seems happy and at peace with himself at the end of the show, there wasn't enough of him! He did get an opportunity to look cool at least, but that whole section of the plot felt truncated compared to the trio's side.
