OWL Favorites Meme

got_quietThere are a couple of memes going around for showing who your faves are in the OWL so I figured I'd waste some time and do them.
First is a general favorite team meme. The template is Here
And here's mine filled out:
My loyalties are pretty fickle to be honest. A lot of teams move from one category to the other depending on how I feel that day but they usually don't jump two categories. I thought Houston was going to be my team in S1 but I can only let my heart be crushed by one team at a time and that honor is going to Seoul. Glads I was meh on for the beginning of season 1 but they ended up becoming what I thought Houston would be and I also became a big fan of Bischu and Surefour, so now they're near the top for me. I was watching KR contenders live starting from season two and got to see both finals live, and the final vs Kongdoo Panthera made me a solid Runaway fan, so Vancouver is starting out strong for my heart. It's a shame that so many of the Kongdoo players are scattered around though, and on questionably run teams, because I want to see them succeed. They gave us such a good final, they deserve it. The Spark got my loyalty initially for pink Reaper, but their bout with Guangzhou was super entertaining and now I'm a real fan.
But Boston is still probably top dog for me. I was telling anyone who would listen that they were underrated way back in S1S1 and their stage 3 vs London is still my favorite game. It's been rough losing so many of my faves from the team but I'm rooting for them to recover and do well again.
In tier 2 Houston may come back to the top if they stop fucking with me every match. The Hunters may drop if their promising first fight turns out to be a fluke, NY and Paris are in their pretty solid as teams I like a lot but don't feel compelled to root form. Charge may end up being my favorite expansion team yet purely on the back of Shu's support play. His Ana was fire and so much fun to spectate.
In tier 3 I keep swinging between liking Valiant and being indifferent to them. The individual players are great but something about their presence as a team leaves me cold. Dragons are a big sigh from me and only aren't at the bottom because of the new Kongdoo pickups. Phili and London are both teams I root against by pure luck. Phili for fucking Boston and Houston so thoroughly and London for being one of the few teams I can watch Houston survive against. SF and Atlanta are complete blanks to me.
I don't care enough (I say after writing many paragraphs) to really dislike any team. The worse thing for me is if I find the team boring. Fuel and Mayhem are damn boring. They are guilty of giving us too many bad games. Justice looked bad their first game but that may change, and Defiant is guilty of showing us that Houston is still fucking up so they get a thumbs down just for that.

In other news I started watching One Piece and I'm loving it so far! I always forget how much I love pure shounen stuff and then when I watch it again I get all pumped up and excited. The whole concept seems straight forward, but with a lot of opportunities to expand the worldbuilding, so I'm eager to see how nutty it gets.
