got_quietI have never been happier to eat my words. Turns out I can't complain about Young Justice being unbearably het anymore because Kaldur has himself a boyfriend that he snogs on screen. I have no idea who this guy is and I don't know if he's going to stick around, but this is probably the first time I've ever had a fave that was actually canonically into men without the canon itself being aimed at a gay audience. I still think he had a fling with Superboy though.
That said the show does still seem to want to pair up absolutely everyone. There's even an episode where the one single guy in the group (iirc Static Shock, which, what happened to Virgil huh?) complains about really needing to get a girlfriend.

This weekend was somewhat of a disaster. I was supposed to do some work on Saturday that required access to a garage, but the garage had accidentally been locked when I arrived and I had forgot the access code, so I needed to go home and try again today after getting the code. So instead of doing that I decided to do some work learning some web dev stuff, which I've not done in a very long time. The result was that I somehow managed to leave the site I work on open to an exploit and the entire thing is infected now! I wouldn't care too much if were just idle personal projects there, but I had just literally last week set up something for work there because we needed hosting and I wasn't sure we needed to pay. So now I'm paying for that cheapness big time. I can't fix the problem without the support, because whatever it is the exploit did it's gotten to files I don't have access too, so I'm just sitting on my thumbs cursing at myself for fucking up. And that very same day I got an email from someone that looked a little weird but seemed to make sense (It asked if I knew anyone in a picture) and I clicked on a link. It led me to somewhere random and after a few seconds of confusions I was like oh fuck and shut of my computer.
After that I was trying to find a lightweight CMS to install that didn't have too many reqs (they don't fucking exist) and as I was working I basically watched my website being taken over by a virus in real time.
So that was my Saturday. I don't know if the phishing email was the culprit or the many sites I went to looking for web dev info, or one of the packages I installed trying to find a CMS that didn't suck ass. But either way everything was fucked.
Today was blazingly hot, so the work I was doing in the garage sucked more than it needed to, but it wasn't too bad. And I got a little sunlight so that's a bonus. I spent most of the day after cooking, because I bought way too much food for this week and need to have it processed so I don't have to worry about what to eat for a while. I've still got the pork and bean soup going int the slow cooker. I haven't tried doing it this way before, so hopefully it will not taste like trash. I also made some corn and broccoli to make lunches out of tomorrow.
For dinner we decided to try a new restaurant a bit away. I've actually benefited immensely from COVID, since I don't have to pay the 700 a month in my federal student loans and I have brought my food spending down significantly by cooking almost every single meal nowadays. So I was feeling a little splurgy and suggested we try a Greek place that was "highly rated." It was very expensive but just okay. Definitely not worth the trip, but there's a chance that ordering in-house is a better experience. I was kinda hoping to find some really good Greek but that remains elusive here save for the occasional Greek Festival, which have all been cancelled.
After that less than stellar meal I begged off of my table top game to sit down and completely reformat my computer and reinstall windows. Luckily this is a painless process, and the only annoying thing is chasing down all of the software I need to install. I decided to try switching browsers from Chrome to Firefox. I haven't used firefox since it was such a massive resource hog I moved to Chrome, like.. 15 years ago or something. I decided to use this time to clean out my bookmarks for the first time in about that long. It was sad to see so many broken links, but many of them still worked and it was a trip down memory lane. I had to go through and tidy up my external too and found some fic from 2003, which I was writing mostly OC fic for Blizzard properties. I had one where a human and Protoss were serving Kerrigan as her psychic slaves lol. Ah, good times.
